Almost completely self taught I specialise in black and white photography. With its seamless ability to avoid distractions and acknowledge subjects in their naturalist forms, it has to be one of the most fascinating genres of photography. Never purely used a gimmick, I use black and white photography to resemble the peacefulness and tranquility that life can bring.

My photographic style is focused on silhouetted candid human subjects in order to focus on the idea of loneliness as well as the tranquility available in the hustle and bustle of the second largest city in England. For me photography is a major form of catharsis and escapism. It gives me the opportunity to express repressed creative juices and gives me purpose and drive. The beauty of taking an idea that previously didn’t exist in the world then composing it, snapping it and then editing it gives me that burst of dopamine that fuels my love for the activity further.

My love for street photography escalated from an interest in a number of Instagram accounts where I saw these beautifully composed high contrast images that forced you to stop scrolling and breathe for a second. They provided you with a more realistic and artistic view of the world as well as a welcome relief to endless self obsessed, fame hungry, Instagram Influencers selfie littered feeds.
